| Not All Protein is Created Equal.
Protein molecules are chains of amino acids called peptides. The human body can absorb only very small di and tri-peptides. Larger peptides must be enzymatically broken down (hydrolyzed) before any absorption can occur. Most breakdown and absorption occurs in the proximal section (duodenum) of the small intestine. You have only one foot of duodenum. Once past the proximal bowel, there is essentially no further protein absorption. Undigested protein passes into the colon where it can cause serious health problems.
Unlike other protein supplements, you get 100% absorption from the protein in "The Seven Essentials".
Your body can only process a small percentage of protein from the supplements and food currently available to you in the market. Soy, beef, fish, poultry and dairy products have no di and tri-peptides. These sources of protein have peptide sizes ranging between 20,000 and 100,000 daltons which take your body a lot of time to break down. In fact, the most you're likely to be able to absorb is about 30%. So 70% of the protein you eat is not utilized by your body - it is wasted.
The protein in The Seven Essentials is in the form of hydrolyzed protein isolates which have over 45% di and tri-peptides averaging less than 1,000 daltons in size. These require virtually no active breakdown by your body which means you absorb it 100%, quickly.
And there's no inferior casein, vegetable or deceptively labeled flash-hydrolyzed whey raw materials.
Many people are now using protein supplements, either in the form of pre-mixed drinks or as powders to be mixed with liquids. The problem here is that liquids pass very quickly through your intestines allowing very little time for breakdown and absorption. If the protein in these drinks or powders is not mixed with quality dietary fiber as well, they can cause discomfort through excessive gas, and/or unhealthy and irregular elimination. To overcome these challenges, The Seven Essentials includes a proprietary new form of soluble psyllium fiber called SoftPsilŽ. This has the highest natural swell ratio (up to 200 times its weight), keeping the protein in your proximal bowel until it is totally absorbed.
Not only do you get the best quality protein, it also gets to where it most needs to be - in your cells.
